Francis Routh was one of the foremost British composers of the 20th century
Born in 1927 in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, Francis Routh studied composition at the Royal Academy having graduated from King's College Cambridge. He died in November 2021. His 85 published works span 60 years and include 3 symphonies, concertos for violin, 'cello and oboe, a number of chamber and instrumental works as well as works for organ, piano and voice. In addition he published a number of books on music and wrote a number of academic articles. This website provides an overview of his works and the opportunity to download key material.
